Pet Travel Requirements (Dogs, Cats, Ferrets)
- Microchip: Your pet must have an ISO-compliant microchip implanted before rabies vaccination.
- Rabies Vaccination: Administered after 12 weeks of age and at least 21 days before travel. The vaccination must be valid at the time of travel and recorded in the pet passport.
- EU Pet Passport: Issued by an authorized EU veterinarian, documenting the microchip number and rabies vaccination details.
- Tapeworm Treatment: Not required for travel between the Netherlands and Spain.
- Minimum Age to Travel: Pets must be at least 15 weeks old (12 weeks for vaccination plus 21-day waiting period).
