Traveling with pets between Germany and Spain is straightforward, as both countries adhere to EU regulations. Here are the key requirements:
Pet Travel Requirements (Dogs, Cats, Ferrets)
Minimum Age to Travel: Pets must be at least 15 weeks old (12 weeks for vaccination plus 21-day waiting period).
Microchip: Your pet must have an ISO-compliant microchip implanted before rabies vaccination.
Rabies Vaccination: Administered after 12 weeks of age and at least 21 days before travel. The vaccination must be valid at the time of travel and recorded in the pet passport.
EU Pet Passport: Issued by an authorized EU veterinarian, documenting the microchip number and rabies vaccination details.
Tapeworm Treatment: Not required for travel between Germany and Spain.
